Looks good :good:

Interesting idea with the 2 substrates, though won't they eventually mix together?

What's the catfish in the 4th picture? :nerd:

the cat is a pimelodus pictus
the sand and gravel will mix in time but for now looks good lol

just a tip:

take the plants out of the pots and take any foam off so its just the plant/roots and then plant them :good:

Looks good but would look even better with a black background ;) personally i dont like the blue gravel i think its tacky.. just my personal opinion though :)

I think the substrates are a bit of a clash, but it's was a nice idea. You'll find that your tanks change drastically as you get more into the hobby, so it's a great start!

The pictus looks demonic!

cheers for the coments guys
the thing with the subtrat is the missus wanted the blue and i wanted sand she wanted it in the livin room and i wanted it in the conservatory
so it ended up half n half but it went in the conserv but the half she wanted could be seen through the sliding door
but the best laugh of all now shes got a juwel 180 of her own so will be lookin goto total sand in the next week or 2
have also got an internal 3d background to go in
also advice taken with the plants cheers ian

also is there such a thing as to much filtration as im running the standard 400 and the atman 883 also i have a 200wat heater in the 400 and a 300 in the atman both on but temp is stable

ok so heres the newlooking rio 400 {taken some advise from yourselves} let me know what u think

I love how it looks like the beach! That will be enjoyable to watch before it gets mixed up. Very creative idea! It looks great!
