My pygmy cory are fine with EC, and I wouldn't suggest using it below sand, defeats the purpose of it, you may aswell go for something like the Tetra, JBL or Tropica substrate and then put sand on the top.

Cute! I thought about pygmy cories, but I'm just going to move some leopard danios into the new tank when I get it going, and maybe add a couple more, as well as some shrimp

Of course, I need to re-home my chinese algae eater first
