First Live Food Fail

i was at petsmart, wasting my time when i noticed they got a new shipment of ghost shrimp. thinking my eel would finally eat, i got 10. when i released them into the tank surprizingly my BUENOS AIRES TETRAS swooped in and ATE half of the shrimp. so there were only five that managed to get to the bottom of the tank. then, my tetras ate more of the shrimp. after being eaten and harrassed by the tetras and barbs, there were NONE left, in 15 MINUTES. so pretty much, my eels dinner got eaten by the tetras and he didnt get any.

get some frozen shrimp and feed it to them, its easier and probably cheaper than live shrimp

yup agree, frozen is way cheaper and you get more for the money!

yup. the purpose of the shrimps though were so my eel could eat.

If you buy some more, put flake food in for the tetras, to get frozen food to my corys on the bottom I defrost in tank water and use a pipette to put it straight to the bottom while everyone else is busy eating flakes! Then they get the rest of the frozen food at the top when I am done with the corys!

i tried just that, but boy do those tetras know everything.

Haha sneaky so and so's! cathc them in a net while the others eat, teach them a lesson haha

Next time put the shrimp in at night when the lights are off.
The Tetras will be sleeping but the eel will be out and about.

lol. i'll try it. its it a pain to get eels to eat!
