Firemouths

Sounds like they have hatched and the parents have moved the fry. Same has happened with my Sevs, only problem is they moved them to another rock only they have all fallen off into the gravel somewhere and the clown loach have eaten them.

Oh no thats a shame loaches dont mess about when it comes to food. How often does she lay?

In the previous tank she spawned every 14 days on the dot, it was getting grazy and she was getting very tired so I moved the male for a few weeks, but she still spawned  I set them up in a completely different tank and its taken them a couple of months now to be happy enough to start again. At least she has had a good rest this time.

Bloody hell thats mad dont know alot about sevs but it must be stressful for her. When I win the euros this friday i will get a nice big house and get plenty of tanks that I can manage and ill have a few sevs

Just come home from work to find a mass of fry this is the first time i have seen them since last monday when they were eggs. Parents seem to be doing a very good job!

Hey fantastic news, congratulations :good:

Thank you. Suprised really thought they would have been 4-5 left as i hadnt seen them

Cichlids always surprise you with fry like that. My dempseyss eggs all went white so i binned them because it was getting really quite badly congeiled in gunk. Then a few days later about 70 fry appeared out of nowhere. Obviously some hatched and the female hid them untill they get to free swimming stage.

More than likely what your firemouths have done. Congratulations!

Ohhh fish are far from thick. Amazes me when people come out with that sentiment, its so completely and utterly not true! Especially the larger cichlids, they are really quite intelligent. (excluding Chops) Sorry Lesley!

Haha it annoys me when I try to explain to people they dont have a "3 second memory" theyve even proved it! Only fish i would call thick is my gourami, happily swims into the net!
