Hi, I was just looking for some suggestions as to what other fish I could keep in my 45 (uk) gallon tank which is currently home to two firemouth cichlids? Thanks

Thanks :) I was really only looking to add maybe two more, maybe blue acara or convicts.

Am I reading that link correctly?! Pacus, ID Sharks, Wolf fish, Texas Cichlid... In a 20gal COMMUNITY tank?!

Hiya,

I would advice AGAINST convicts as they will beat up the most agressive of cichlids when breeding, which is all the time Lol.

Cant really suggest many good tanks mates even with that sized tank. I have kept angel fish with a pair in a 40gallon tank with no worries but it might be a one off thing. If they where to fight the angels would get a beating.

Some of the smaller geo species would deffinatly work. But it depends on the size of your tank ... if its 4ft x 18inches or similar then I would go for a small shoal (3) geos. They may outgrow the tank in time but it is possible.

Saboy, that link gives some awful advise :/

I'd say try the geo's like Joel suggested.

The firemouths will get 6" remember so even if it looks empty now it will have some quite big fish eventually.

:good:

ok, thanks all for your advice- I dont want to end up with an overstocked tank :)
