Firemouth digging

I recently added 2 firemouth cichlids to my tank and they’ve done fine, they started digging in all 4 corners of the tank, it’s not a problem I was just wondering if it’s breeding behaviour or normal ( 1- male. 1- female )

My cichlids did that too and I ended up with over 50 of them (started with 8) They also pushed around the plastic plants and dug under them and the rocks.

It's both. Cichlids will dig as normal behavior, but when breeding as well.

If there are 2 firemouths hanging in the same area that is dug out, then they have paired up.

Most cichlids will dig when happy or breeding.
