fire mouths and oscars

i am setting up a cihclid tank and my favourite cichlids were firemouths and oscars and i was wondering if i can keep a pair of each without fightingand the tank is 70g and will have a sand substrate(would play snad from home hardware or home depo work)lotsa rocks and driftwood and maybe 1 or two plants.

i have been told oscars will grow out of my tank and will need to be put in a 100g tank so ican put them in my friends tank or trade them to the lfs if they get too bigg will this work or are there ne other suggestions for fish that can go with eather of thes fish?

he dosent want fish to fight for fun he just wanted to know if you could keep them in a 70g you should be ashamed for saying that breed them breed themand 2 oscars can be kept in a 70

An oscar at adult size will need a 55 gallon all for itself, you would be better off just getting a pair of firemouths, if that is your decision....and leave it at that, oscars will outgrow that tank within a year if you have 2 of them, not to mention they are very dirty and you will be spending most of you time cleaning up after them. Go with the firemouths. Good Luck.

St cichlid 2 oscars will NOT work in a 70 gallon tank. each one needs at least that much space or more as adults.. Damn no wonder you have so much trouble with your tanks and fish.

there r fish at the pet store that look exactly like the fish in fresh mikes big tank there they have blue and yellow and maybe red ones the small one r about 3in long and the big r 6in long i think they r africans but neway my lfs got them in to have a sale about 6 moths ago and no one came i wanted a few of these can i keep these with a firemouth couple and any help on the id.

my lfs has tiger oscars and common oscars and a albino tiger oscar thats a beutful fish but it is almost all white but with faint outlins if the tiger oscars stripes
