I noticed my fire eel upside down yesterday so i put him into a floating tank. He has become very thin and now he is just lying upside down breathing. I have tried to feed him with a pipette but he just won't take it. I don't know what to do?

Sounds like he's dying sorry.
Has he gone thin through not eating.

Yea i thought he was dying but he's hung on since yesterday. I stupidly assumed that he had been eating but he is fussy so maybe he hasn't. It sounds terrible but i can't remember the last time i conciously checked he was eating. I recentley lost another fish who suddenly lost it's balance and had a red inflammed anus with something protruding (not worm like).

Can you describe the thing prutruding from the anus.
When you said the eel was thin was thinking of internal parasites.
Being bloated an a red anus can also point towards dropsy.

Well i was thinking parasites due to the thiness and the other fish. It looked like an egg tube, but it looked too big to come out of there. It was the female of my breeding pair of blue eyed cichlids. The eel has patches where the pattern is missing like it has been rubbed off...

Have you posted in the right part of the section of the forum for eels as they might be able to help more, I don't know anything about them to be honest.

No i just figured it was an emergency! I'm moving over there now!

Ok good luck.
