Radish has finrot.

I've spotted it early though and i'm treating with interpret anti-fungus and finrot med. I had to swap Radish into Djins tank as i didn't want to expose he kuhlis to the meds, he hates the smaller space and Djin is hiding and hates the large space :( he's all nervouse i think he was used to the little 12 litre even though it's only his temporary home until he gets a 6gal

I'm feeding him bloodworm pea and pellet for a week to keep his streingth up even though it's a minor case.

After the weeks course he should be ok and i'll move them back to their old homes but untill then i suppose they'll have to be a little uncomfortable.

sorry to hear that hon, its funny how they get used to their tanks isn't it? it is incredibly annoying hope Radish recovers soon!

Thanks guys, Radishes tank just doesn't look the same without him floating about in all his glory.

Djin get's lost in it as it's quite heavily planted.

I'm hoping for the best and my guess would be he'll be fine :good:

I woke up this morning to find Radish sat at the bottom of his tank, at first i thought he was dead but then i saw him breathing, He has a bad case of popeye in his right eye that must have blown up overnight.

My water stats are all fine

Ammnia- 0
Nitrite- 0
Even nitrate- 0

I'm getting worried now.

So is it that he doesn't have a good reaction to the medicine, or is it just a coincidence? Good luck to your little betta anyway.

I havn't a clue what it is but he's just sitting behind the filter with his nose near the surface, although he has made a bubble nest he's just not himself.

He was my first tropical fish and i really am attatched to him, i'm praying he makes it.

whatever you do dont panic and start throwing all sorts of meds at him. is there a possibility that he could have injured his eye in the qtank? bumping into things even the glass, can cause popeye. if you are treating for finrot then hes getting his antibacs. so if the popeye is a result of bacteria you have that base covered. just keep an eye on your stats and keep the tank darkened. will cut down on stress. is he still eating?
he might just be sulking in his new surroundings which is why hes found a nice place to hang out and doesnt really move about much.
best of luck with him!

Just to mention hon, when Rude has his bad mouth I used Interpret No8 (unsure if same as yours) and when added they had a bad reaction both the guys becoming extremely lethargic and listless. After a water change (a couple) I used myaxzin and they perked right up! The one thing should mention had added Melafix two days prior, even with a water change before No8, but unsure if the mixes were what made both go like that or just No8. Just thought worth mentioning as to keep an eye on, hope he pulls through hon. Lots of hugs to you and Radish xx

I am using number 8!!!!
I did a lillt water change when he got listless and replaced the meds i took out.
He's perked up today and has started eating again (two pellets this morning) he's swimming about abit and came to see me this morning, but his eye is HUGE the scales on the side of his head are pineconing but no where else so it's not dropsy.

I think he'll recover, i just hope he doesn't lose the eye

I only mentioned it as it affected my fish, not to panic you sweets!

Glad he has perked up, oh his poor eye hon..not sure what to do there..have you tried emergencies at all?

addition of meds should ALWAYS be done with caution. some fish react badly. also, someitmes they seem to get worse before they get better. happens with us humans sometimes too (depending on the ailment and the meds given for said ailment). clean clean water is usually the best treatment.
i hope he gets better for you.
all the best!
