more advice needed plz guys regarding how to cure and prevent further outbreaks of finrot also advice on how to test for gh and kh (would this be a factor to my problems and is it nescesarry).

bye bye Simon hes just been picked up by my lfs owner who kindly picked him up on his way home after shutting the store. Back to crab tank in the shop tomorrow with around 40 - 50 other red claw crabs happy days for him.

yeah really good even i was surprised the stores only a mile from where i live i rang to see if i could take it back and he offerd to pick it up as i live on his route home.

how do i test for KH and GH ?

With an expensive test kit of course. I'd be curious about the pH, fish don't like that changing on them and I've read that on mature tanks, the pH can start dropping off. I believe that the majority of fin rot starts as a water problem and/or stress issues, but you seem to take really good care of your water. I don't know much about plant ferts other than some of them can give fish fits if the concentration gets too high. Just some ideas.
