Hi All,

I joined the site nearly a year ago when I was helping my 11 yr old son set up his 65l tank which he had saved up for for ages. We needed advice because we have no knowledge or experience ourselves and the only person I know who keeps tropical fish has a lot of them die on him. The trouble is, the tank is in his bedroom so I get to help with the maintenance work but hardly ever sit and watch it!

Today, I bagged a bargain on this site and will soon be the proud owner of a 180 litre tank which I am putting in the living room! I am so excited! It will be a real delight to design the tank to my own tastes rather than his and I will take great pleasure in watching my little fish instead of the rubbish thats usually on TV in the evenings.

Look out for me, as I am bound to be looking for lots of advice.

hehe, glad my tank is going to someone with enthusiasm and I will of course, help you as much as I can, as will everyone else here, see you soon :)

Hi Karen - welcome! Yes, it's an addictive hobby isn't it. I have many friends who, after visiting me, go away saying they really would love to keep fish themselves...

...and you'll get that tank and in 6 months time you'll be wanting another and another until there's no room for any more tanks in your home! ... LOL :hyper:

Good luck with it all - Athena

Athena is so right! I went to my friend's house a few years ago, saw her fish, and went home crying because my parents wouldn't allow me to get a tank. A little while later I got a 20 gallon, then kept adding on to that by getting a 10 gallon and now soon to be a 30-77 gallon! My friends saw the tanks, and one of them got a 30 gallon a couple of weeks later! Another friend wanted to get a tank, but was not allowed.

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome! I am new here myself!
:hi:

Cheers!

Its a shame you were unable to come and buy my tank, but when you do buy a new one, put up some pics for all to see :) :good:
