Finally My Discus In Their New Home

tank looks great and they already look as if they have settled in well

Aye, settled well. Took mine a few days to come out properly after introduction. This could have something to do with the fact that just 2 went in origionally... They pinned down the newcommers but where shy on their own

You've got some that should realy fire up in the next couple of days

All the best

Just want them to GROW!!!!!!

Lots of food and waterchanges heading their way then I presume  5 feeds a day with high-rotien food and twice a week 50% waterchanges is what I do for fish over 4" that I'm trying to get to grow ;)

Wow 12 inches, that's a pretty big Discus they normally don't get to be that big more commonly you see adults around 6-10 inches.

The tank looks really deep, almost like a cube. What size is it? Do you know who makes it?

If you want them to grow you should have left the tank bare bottom. Also would have made them less shy. If you actually did see a 12" discus, and im highly skeptical of that, I can guarantee it was grown out in a bare bottom tank. Not many people have success even reaching 5-6" in a planted tank with substrate and rocks.

If you actually saw a 12" discus for sale it would be the worlds largest by a longshot.

This fish has to be around 12 inches, a fish by Coilin Hang. Probably the biggest I have seen.

Haha ok my guess may have been a bit off, was bigger than my hand and i have BIG hands lol.

The one in the photo looks a wierd shape lol

Dont want mine to get HUGE, just a decent size really, 6-8" would be nice.

I think its a Jewel tank not sure which one but it is pretty much a cube shape!

6-8" is typical for asian bred stock. 12"-dinner plate size for German bred stock and wilds. Wild Heckels to larger still apparently. My mum recons her uncle had a Heckel that was *apparently* the size of a Dustbin lid that he used to take to shows...

There is a thread right now on SD with the person who took that picture. That is a 2ft tank in the background. If that discus were 12 inches it would be half the length of the tank. Its probably 8". There is flat out no such thing as a 12" discus and 8" is a VERY rare thing. You should feel super accomplished to get a juvi to grow to 6", it aint easy.
