as a few people know already, i have been waiting for a 55+ for a long time now. i have been saying it since i started researching african cichlids about 8 months ago and its finnaly going to happen now!

I searched for about 3-4 months for my 120G I wanted a 6ft but then realised all were 2ft so too hard to find. so i settled for a 5ft. great thing is my 5ft is 20 inches deep not 18 and 24 high (Water viewable) not 20. i really hit lucky...
 
sweet deal, i find alot of used 100+ that are 6 foot, but i dont have the money for any of those this is going to be my last tank for a long time now.

Congrats on the new tank! Do you have any species in mind that you like?

I'd aim for a total of 12-15 adults, personally I'd go with 3 species of 5 each, but you could go with 4 species of 3. :good:
 
im probably going to go with Labidochromis caeruleus, Iodotropheus sprengerae, Pseudotropheus socolofi (albino), Cynotilapia afra (Cobue), if i can find them.

I'm not sure where you live (what country), but I'll share something with everyone (that many may already know). I bought 6 c. afra cobue's off of ebay in the U.S. (I also bought these fish in this listing)

His ID is Joshr1977. He's an ebay powerseller w/466 feedbacks with a 99.8% positive rating!!! That's pretty awesome. My fish should be arriving either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. If you're interested I'll let everyone know how my fish come in and put up pics of them. He ships w/insulation, bag buddies, heat paks, etc. He's not selling at the moment but if you watch he prob will. He has a whole breeding setup.

ok thanks for that kj23502 im on the west coast of canada ill check it out when i get home from school, when you get them i would like to see pictures because im weiry of buying live fish online enless i know who is selling them, i dont know if you know what rift zone aquatics is but its a online cichlid store that specializes in hard to find africans, i know the owner and i would buy off of him in a second!

I just mailed him for ya and asked if he ships to Canada. I'm not sure if he does. I figured I'd ask for ya since b/c he has nothing for sale atm you wouldn't be able to find him on ebay(i don't think) to ask him. I'll let you know his response.

I checked out the site. Seems really neat! The only thing is the $200 minimum order to ship to the U.S.! I don't know if I'd order that many fish at the same time(i guess it depends on how much they are too, huh!). They seem awesome. It'd be nice to have some wild caught ones to breed!!!

he mailed back and this is what he said.

"thanks for spreading my name and i wish i could ship to canada but the forms and fees it takes to get a permit are unreal. thanks again,, josh"

sorry about that..... I'm sure you'll be able to find the fish you're looking for. Just might take a little time!
