Well I got me a new little snakehead!

Only wanted something small...

It's a Juvi at about 5cm in length.

Here are some pics of it climbatizing :

haha when i saw the thread by gasmask i knew it had to be good....beautiful, just a small one, come back and say that to me in six months.... :fun:

HAHA!

Well, I got a few months before I will move him into the 7' x 3' x 2', but in the mean time I need to find home/s for it's occupants : A HUGE collection of HUGE Polys, and 4 large Dats.

Got a great idea, box then up and send them to medellin colombia in about 6months time  ;)

Well, at least they would be cared for!
  thanks....

Ive just given away
1 senegal birchir
1 reed fish
1 halfbanded eel
5 ticto barbs
2 colombian tetra
1 dwarf plec which never got an id, to my sister which is good, there for her boyfriends son,so i know she will care well for them

I love the colours/pattern on these guys when they are young, shame they don't stay like this for long

Yup, a 3/4ft beast in those colors would look just intense!

Great fish, only a few are lucky enough to provide a suitable home for them.

Personally, I prefer the adult colouration to juvi, so they just get better with age :p

Yep, I love the adult colors, but there is something kinda cool about that red stripe!

There adult colouration is just amazing and looks hot, but agreed, imagine there juvi colouration on a 3+foot wopper, that would be beautiful....but still he's going to look the dogs dangly bits

Had a bit of a nightmare!

So I have a 50gallon with 3 Channa pleuro growing out in it.
I have added and removed many similar sized and smaller fish with no problems.
The Pleuros are not at all aggressive with anything.

So after quarantine, I added the Micropeltes (about 2cm smaller than the pleuros) to that tank.

Bad move!

The pleuros did not like that one bit!!
They went crazy on the micro trying to eat the little fella!
T
Luckily I managed to fish it out before any real damage was done. (suffered a little shredded fins, a few small insignificant Pleuro teeth marks)

So Micro is now back in the 20gal quarantine until I can pump him up enough to be able to put in with the Pleuros whilst growing.

The Micro Will be moved to it's own tank when it starts to show it's size and/or aggression.

Will post some more pics soon, as it's red is now glowing thanks to the tons of Kettapang leaves in it's quarantine!

Pic taken!
Not the best pic, as the Quarantine tank is VERY dimly lit, has very dark black water and the glass is dusted with algae.
But you get the idea LOL

Fins healing up already:

I rekon that must be the case mate.

The pleuros have been perfect hosts in the tank to many fish. Just seems they don't like the other snakeheads!
Funny thing is, they might not take those nibbles if they knew what this "little" guy will grow up to be!
