Yesterday i finally got it down to 0. Now it has shot up overnight. 0.5.

How can i get it down and KEEP it down!!!

I have added triple dose of bacteria.

what bacteria have you added? most of the bacteria in a bottle products are useless. nitrite will only stay steady at 0 once the tank is cycled, you need to keep doing water changes and monitoring it for as long as it takes for it to stabilise at 0. This can take several weeks of daily water changes.

Stress Zyme? Useless in my experience. The ones that can work are Bactinettes and Bio-Spira. Look for ones that actually list species of bacteria - specifically Nitrosomonas, Nitrospira, and Nitrobacter. Only a couple products contain Nitrospira. Nitrobacter isn't normally the bacteria that processes nitrite, but it can still work. Bactinettes doesn't contain Nitrospira, and it has worked for many people. Superbac is the only non-refrigerated bottled product I know of that lists bacterial species. I've not used it, but supposedly the bottle's contents are brown and slightly smelly like Bio-Spira and unlike virtually all other brands.

this problem recently happened to me. i had nitrite very low and it increased, with water changes i got it down to just under 0.3 and the next day it shot up to 0.8. there's nothing you can do about it except the water changes. if you do these it will go down as quickly as it went up. keep testing and if your newly cycling your tank with fish in it don't add any more fish until you get on top of the nitrite
