Hey guiys, I'm about ready for my new discus set up. I'll post pictures of it tonight or tommorow! But look at the colors on these discus. I can only hope my soon to be babies grow up to be all they can be. I'll do my best to assure that.

Those are the parents.

My PH is 6.4, Hardness 75, Alkalinity 300, Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrates 20 (Lowest I can get due to tap water)

nice i can only dream onne day i can keep discuss it would be easier if it wernt for that darn ph 7.5 tap water
especialy as at my lfs theyve got some black dicuss

Well actually my tap is 8.2 ph.But I have done water changes to test it out and I have tons of buffers in there. A 50 percent water change raises the PH .1. It's amazing, this discus buffer stuff. So Allz I do is add a tiny amount of discus buffer back in, lowers the ph about .1 and adds more buffers.

I'm not joking, everything i've used by them Actually works, which is more than i can say for most products....
Check out purigen pads if you've ever got serious ammonia, nitrite, nitrate tank problems.
(doubt it, but its worth knowing)
No need for cycling IMHO if you use these, they DO work although not for the 6 months the pack stipulates.
Anyway wittering  , the discus on your pic are gorgeous, good luck!

Nice! I talked to the people at that hatchery before (atleast one person via email), they seem to be very good breeders. hHopefully the fry will come out like the parents but of course color intensity will vary.
