Finally Found Some Endlers!

Maybe the ammonia spiked because you didn't remove all the dead fish?
I see that you had other threads opened for the sick fish, with the white staff attached to your fish. Did that happen just after introducing the endlers?
yes it did. After I put the endlers in they were swimming around for a while then I noticed the fish up the top circling-did you see the video of my water disturbance? you see one of the last remaining females twirling.
I tested the water everyday-all stable. After I put the 2 gouramis in the water was still stable. Today - rocket high.
I just tested it again my ammonia now is sitting at 0 but the nitrites is purple. It's hard to tell but I think it's sitting about 1. I will do a 10% water change tomorrow in the hope it comes down.

Maybe there was some left over from the dead fish. It would take a while for it to cause a spike. Just keep testing every day and do water changes. There isn't much more you can do. Monitor your new fish, as if the previous fish did die from sickness, that may still be in the water.

endlers are small compared with some Livebearers lol.View attachment 65823
I just saw that pic! Aww how cute are endlers!

Snazy - The water was spot on the day I got the gouramis-but I did a 90% water change in case there was the illness in the water but now i'm like maybe I should have just left it. The levels were fine so why didn't I just leave it. I annoy myself sometimes, they do say if it aint broke-don't fix it

Here are a couple of my own breeding!

Hi again NY82
How long was it from when you put the endlers in your tank until you lost all your fish?

Unfortunately they were dead in a few hours. My water was all perfect, they must had had something, and passed it to everything cus in a few hours all my fish died
I was so devastated. I went to pets at home so they tested my water and came back all perfect too, told them to test the oxygen but that was spot on aswell. They just said it was the fish.

Am afraid to it was not the endlers ! NOT that quick had to be your water parameters! With ammonia spikes so high that is the problem ! What type filter media are you using?

No way did the endlers pass on any disease and kill everything within a few hours
incorrect water conditions change of invirement and stress was the problem.

high ammonia spikes can be a problem the biggest problem is water changes to much to quick. also keeping tank water to clean. 90 % is far to much to change at any 1 time
.

Can I just say-the ammonia spiked up 3 days after the guppies died and the gouramis were added. (POST NUMBER 12 PREVIOUS PAGE) and just in case anyone missed it also from the previous page. The 90% water change was only done the day after they had died and before my gouramis were added which are doing great :good:

I tested my water before putting the endlers in, ammonia was 0 nitrites were 0 ph was spot on, I put the endlers in about 2pm a few hours later I saw my guppies circling the top of the tank so I tested it again, ammonia was 0 nitrites were 0. With the advice of forum members I did a water change at half 4pm. Tested the water surprised it was spot on.
Tested the water at half past 6. Ammonia was 0 nitrites were 0. By then most of the fish had died.
Tested it again at half 8pm-spot on
Tested it again at half 11pm-spot on.
Tested it again at 2am - spot on.
The next again day the last female guppy was left. Did a 20% water change, tested the water, ammonia was 0, nitrites were 0. That fish died too.
Took my water sample to pets at home. They have the same API kit I use in case mines for some reason was dodgy. I didn't sleep that night testing it every 2-3 hours like a woman posessed
They found nothing either. Unless of course both our tests were wrong.

So yes. I do believe it was the endlers. After they were put in I noticed one with white bits on it's fins and eye then the rest of them had it. Coincidence? Unless my water spiked up then went back down within the 2 hours I didn't test it. Could happen.
Pets at home couldn't explain it, water was spot on. Dobbies tested it aswell and it was spot on and put it down to the fish. Took it for a 3rd opinion at a specialist fish shop near me-I never buy anything out of there as they are very pricey  and he said to me that this time of year is bad for guppies and even they have had problems with theirs. He suspected too that it was something to do with the fish I added.
I then went to the marine section to watch the seahorses in awe

Anyway i'm tired, just put my chemistry set away-everything is spot on :D going to bed now.
night night x
