Final Tank Upgrade For Ornatums

Matt, I have an ND 5' x 2' hood in perfect condition that you can have for nowt, if you can collect it from the Southampton area. It's just taking up space in my shed at the moment !

It still doesn't have any lights though. It has the clips and reflectors in place but not the tubes or electrics.

thants a very generous offer but why do you live so far away.............

i could find out how much less it would cost without the hood and see if it was cheaper to get a courier to collect it from you. its always an option thanks again

An 18" width will be fine, I know somebody who has a pair of near full grown ornatum, and I think his tank is only 18" width. I really hope you do well with yours, as I only know of you two that has these with the potential of spreading them through the hobby.

i guess an 18 inch wide tank would be fine for a pair but i have 6 ornatums and an EBJD to go in the same tank if possible... its currently living with them at the minute.

i have 2 ornatums that are quite a bit smaller than the others so im guessing these might be female but not sure its way too early yet to tell but knowing my luck i have all males
if non pair up then they will stay in this new tank together unless i sell some on which i dont want to do umless i have to

my choice of tanks has changed and since selling most of my other cichlids except Keith i have now decided to transfer him into a 5x2x2 thats to be ordered soon....... he will then be my true wet pet and in our lounge not the garage

so the ornatums and ebjd will go into the 6x2x2 that will be ordered once the building work has finished on the house i feel they will require the extra space once they start growing and Keith should be loving it in a 5x2x2 all to himself except a BGK and a few catfish
