Hey Everyone,
Haven't posted on here in awhile. Sorry bout that.. I've been extremely busy. Anyways, I have a male betta and its my first fish that i've ever had..So i'm still new to this whole fish thing. Anyways, I'm not sure if he's had it all along and never noticed it or if its something new. I'm not sure what fin rot looks like.. could someone please explain what it looks like and if it is fin rot is it something that can be cured? If so, how do i do that.. now i've been told several different things on how to change his water and what kind of water to use.. so i'm not sure the exact way to do it.. Can someone help me? Like i said i'm still new to all of this.. I've had him about a month now.. If somebody can help i would sure appreciate it.Thank you

If it is Fin Rot then Melafix is the thing to help out - widely renowned as one of the best "repairers" - I have used it before and it certainly helps.
I must say though I've never used it with Bettas so cant say how succesful it is with them but have used it on gouramis , cichlids etc with acceptable results.

I am currently treating a betta with melafix but not having great success. I think part of my problem though is an unstable pH in this small tank. Someone mentioned Bettafix which is specifically for bettas. I'm going to try to find some of that today. I think the bettatalk.com site that someone already mentioned is a very good site for beginners.
