Hi,
Yesterday I bought some swordtails. One of which I have noticed has fin rot i think. Also has some raised scales. Looks like the fin rot has gone through to his body. I noticed this as soon as I got in and has nothing to do with my tank. I can't take it back cus shop is miles away. What should I do? Will water changes be enough? My water is fine in every aspect no ammonia ect. Any help wud be great

Do a large water change an buy some fin rot medication, or it could be that other fish have been nibbling at it what other fish have you got in their with it

It wasn't the otha fish. I literally put the fish into the tank. And was just watching them n I noticed it.

Raised scales is a sign of what is called dropsy. This is a usually fatal disease... Well more so of a symptom of organ failure. When your fish have contained this symptom they are usually already stating to die as there organs are failing, I would recommend something along the lines of humanely euthinizing the fish with a treatment of clove oil

Good luck!
