i have posted about this in the cichlid forum but no one is replying so i thought id post something here and i have a broader question now. one of my corys fins have become damaged and are white round the edges, also my cichlid is lost half his tail and the other fins have some white too. i have used some fin rot medicine and hope this will help but i think its due to my other cichlid attacking the other fish the cichlid in particular. i cant get rid of my aggresive cichlid but she wont leave the others alone either, i dont have another tank to put her in and im stuck what to do. ive already taken one back that attacked the other fish in the first place but the second is as aggressive as the first. i think they have fin rot, can it be caused by fin nipping? the cichlid isnt using his tail fin (whats left of it) will he start using it if the infection clears?

Although I have the same problem it is not asserious as I have 5 silver tipped tetras.
It seems that if one is aggresive as soon as it goes another one will become aggresive until you can keep the peacful fish.

As for the fins I guess it could be treated by fin rot treatment and I hope it works for you. As for the white stuff. I have no idea. I would probably look into getting another tank 4-5 galls should be a good quartine tank. Although it really depends on the size of your fish.
