My Red Honey gourami seems to have some sort of white,yellowy-brown area on its pectral fin. If it is Fin Rot, what do I do?

Can you post a pic?

What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels?
How long have you had this fish, what else is in the tank and how large is the tank?

If it's finrot, buy and treat with an anti-finrot med (anything that says it treats columnaris/flexibacter and aeromonas).

I've only had him for a couple of weeks. The other one died of competition. The nitrate levels are normal. The tank is a 3.3ft tank. The other fish that are in the tank are:
5 Serpae tetras
9/10 Neon tetras
1 Gold Panchax(male)
2 Bristlenose catfish
1Albino Bronze Cory
1 Bronze Cory
5 scissor tail rasborras
a variety of mollies(Black,Green, Half Black)
2 Khulie Loaches
1 Clown Loach
4 guppies
2 Banded Gobies
2 Angel fish(Half Black, Silver)
2 High fin varites platy's(male and female).
I'll send the pics when I am next [/size]on. The different couloration is at the corner of the elonggated pectral/anal fin. In the photo it comes up white.

The length of the tank says nothing about it's volume... it could be 3.3 feet long and only 6" wide and 5" tall for all I know.

You don't appear to have any voerly nippy species besides the serpae tetras and the angels (which don't tend to get along with dwarf gouramies - they stress them out). So I think, even if the infection resulted after nipping, you almost certainly have finrot to deal with.

BTW, angels will eat neons and often kill male guppies too.

They seem to getting along just fine. None of them have ever nipped the gourami although my male High fin varites platy seems to be a bit agressive when they are around his female. He might think that they are rival males of the same species.
