fin nipping angel

that is the meanest angel I have ever seen if I treat my tank with melafix would it mess up my cycle if it does then I am in a big mess it has got every fish I own except the bettas I done a good job of the female betta myself someone tell me what I can do to trat this mess that I made by not waiting for the angels one of them are cool dont bother nothing it got its fins ate to

Melafix shouldn't mess up your cycle at all. Just make sure that you aren't using carbon filters when treating, as this will remove the melafix from the water

Fins grow back really quickly with this stuff, so when it is done, use a carbon pad in your filter for a couple of days and this will filter out the leftover of the treatment.

Most treatments are made to disturb your tank as little as possible, good luck and let us know how you get on

Let me be blunt here..................

While melafix will repair the torn fins, it will NOT fix the problem!!!!

You can spend all the time in the world healing the fins, but the angel will continue to show this behavior.

The aggressive angel needs to be in a larger tank or by itself!!

Refreash my memory.....what size tank are all these fish currently in

let me tell you all what it wasnt the angel it was that mean rump short fined betta that man josh said he wanted him if he dont take him I am going to take him back to the pet store I watched him nip at my mollie and my red tail this morning. I dont know why such a beautiful fish like them bettas have to be so mean. I thought those angels would be ok since she had them in with the mollies at the pet store if things dont change I will have to take them back to but back to the question in hand will the melafix mess up my cycle on my tank?

The melafix should not harm your bacteria.....

Please don't take this personally, but I feel it has to be said.......

In another post you asked about the angels and if they would get along with your other fish.....there were several replies advising against housing the angels with the betta due to possible aggression either from the angels or the betta due to several factors so this behavior should really not come as a suprise to you.

I do apologize if this reply offends you, but I really felt it needed to be said.

yea I know I had to have them but it wasnt the angel that done the nipping it was the betta it got everything but the angels that is the meanest betta I have ever saw I feel like flushing him.
