Ok got a question for you guys.

I have a 60g tank. have all sorts of fishes, theyre doing great.. however some of them have their fins nipped, im just worried that itll get to the point where theyre going to drown from being unable to swim.

fishes in tank:
4 giant danios
2 pearl danios
10 zebra danios
2 albino buenos aires
2 buenos aires
1 bala shark (baby)
2 rainbow sharks
1 neon tetra (the one with blackish stripe through body)
4 black dotted hearts
2 black tetras (forgot name, theyre same as the black dotted heart tetras but instead of red theyre black finned)
3 bettas (these are in condos so theyre not involved)
1 small fish (forgot name, have yellow specs on fins- tetra family)
1 electric blue crayfish

i often see them playing/messing around chasing each other but i never catch them in the act of pecking fins.
the crayfish keeps to himself & hes always fed well (caught him in act once after a bala was pecking at him & he made sure the bala never messed with him again..poor bala, ever since i make sure he eats good). in fact i feed them all well. always toss in 3 types of food. flakes, shrimp pellets & Granules. on weekends i toss in broken algae tablets.

have you guys had a fin nip problem before, if so how did you guys deal with it?
any advice would be appreciated, thanks guys.

Potential nippers are pearl danios, all tetras, sharks and crayfish. The stocking is overall poor, so the best way to prevent nipping is to sort it out.

Most of your fish should be in groups of 6 or more. That would reduce the fin nipping. Problem is, you're way overstocked as it is, and as Kitty Kat mentioned, poorly at that. You should really do the research on all the fish you have, find out which ones you really want to keep, rehome the rest and bring the ones you like up to the proper numbers.

Yep, like everyone else said, it could be most of those fish, but I'd bet on either the tetras (because they're in such small groups) or the crayfish because, well, they're beasts

I had a problem when I first started out and only had 4 silver tip tetras, which aren't particularly aggressive. They went mad, chasing everything else endlessly and fighting everything. Got two more and they were much calmer (though still a bit mental sometimes). Some of the tetra species you have are renowned to be nippers anyway so I'd hazard a guess that that's your problem.

Ok,

thanks guys, i will research the fishes better next time, & will try to rehome most.

appreciate you guys taking the time to reply, helped alot ;) thanks again.
