i think it's my angel fish...well my guppy's have started to get tattered ripped tails and they have only started to get them resently as i put the angel fish in on saturday, i got a new guppy on sunday and woke up to find him dead the next day!!! WHAT IS GOING ON!!!! can someone give me a list of fin nippers? and a list of what fish get on with angel fish...ARGH I DON'T WANT MY FISH TO DIE!

Angels and guppys don't mix.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

21 fish 64 litre tank
2 guppies (9 guppy babies)
4 peppered corrys
2 glass fish
3 glass catfish
2 angel fish
2 killi fish
3 sunset platys
2 brittlenosed plecos
1 shrimp (1possible baby)
and snails

The tank is settled.
I know they don't mix but bite marks have started to appear in the sunset platy's tails and also a bit of the glass fish's tail, however the glass fish have been chasing eachother a lot lately and it might just be them...

Your tanks severely overstocked.
You need to reduce your stocking.

I would advise rehoming the angels. You need at least a 20 gallon for 2 angel fish.

Also ask the lfs if they would take the fry off your hands.

Research the fish before you buy for tank size, adult size, compatibility.

ok...poor angel fish...and i gonna see what the guppy's grow to look like, i've promiced my cousin some and my bro might get a fish tank for x-mas so i'll give him some...

my dad at the time said the angel fish grew to the size of their environment

(Tropical sunset; this is in no way meant as a personal insult to either you or your dad but...)

if I hear that one more time, I will go

ok so how do i re-home them...or *snivle* am i gonna have to kill them :'(

Oh no; don't kill them!

Ask if the shop will take them back; put a advert in the shop's window if they'll let you, put them up on Aquarist Classified (http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/); some one should take them off you.

I have no idea; it depends on the shop; some do, some only give a credit note; some don't give anything...the most important thing is what's best for your fish; both the angels and your guppies!

OMG they have now managed to bite my peppered corry's fins too! the only fin and tail left unbitten is the brittlenosed plecos...#41#### THEM by the time i can finaly get them out they might have killed my whole tank already

Awwww

I know you will; chiclids worm their way into your affections so quickly. You'll be doing the right thing for the fish though. You could always set up a bigger tank for angels some time in the future :good:

Edit!!! Oh, well; guess you won't miss them now, lol! Do you have a net you could put them in, in the tank until you can get them out? They won't like it but it'll keep your other fish safe at least...

i can't re-home them till tomoz at 3:30 pm UK time...

EDIT: i have a fish net but not big enough or fast enough to catch them...the breeding tank is taken up by baby guppies (at least they will be safe)

Eeeek...

How big are the angels? Have you got any kind of container you can float in the main tank to keep them separated? It'll need to have holes in it to let the water circulate.
