Well since starting out in this hobby all of 5 days ago, i have established that under gravel filtration systems are rubbish and i made a mistake getting one, so i am in need of a new filter!

Initially thaught i should get a canister filter, but have since been told it may be overkill for my 65 Litre setup, any thaught or opinions on this?

I have also looked at hang on the back filters, these seem like and elegant and cheap solution to a problem. but i have the problem that my tank sits flush against the wall and there is no space in the hood for it to be mounted on the side. I could accomodate one by moving it out from the wall if they are as good as they say on the tin!

Are there any other completly internal or external filter systems i should consider for a 65 Litre (~17 gallon) tank?

also who is the best UK online stockist to purchase my filter from?

thanks for your help (again!) Paul :good:

i use an UDF they arnt really designed 2 be used on there own as a filter IMO obviously cause there no media as such for bacteria 2 collect on but for my 60 ltr i use a tetratec 600 which yes is a bit overkill but it's better 2 over filter than under filter if u know wot i mean and i run a 1600lr power head on the UDF aswell i know 35 times turn over is a lot but it houses plecs so really needs it:)

anyways if canister filter try somethink like a 600ltr /h 1 will keep tank spotless and theres no need 2 have any sort of internal with it :)

not sure about the best online shop tho m8

the tetratec ex600 was actully the one i was looking at! So it wouldnt do any harm to keep the UGF going as well as the canister filter? i guess "every little helps" eh!
