would it harm my fish havin 2 filters in a 3ft tank 1 is a fluval 2 plus and the other is interpet power filter 1 i think which was with tank wnen bought off a friend alreadt set up or should i take 1 out

its about 40 gallonI run 2 HOB filters on my 30" tank and they are fine. My belief is that you can't have too much filtration. Those filters are rated 105 gph and 83 gph so you have almost 200 gph. What size tank is it? If it's over 40 gallon, you actually still might not have enough filtration.
thank you tank water nice and clear i have 1 parrot fish 2 angel fish 2 dwarf gauramies 4 molliess 3 black phantom tetra 4 red tetra a krib and ram i am gettin larger tank soon what internal filter do u recomendThose 2 filters are borderline but will maybe work. You don't really have any extra filtration though. General rule is that you need the filters to process the water at least 5 times per hour and you are at 188 gph which is a little under that. You will have to be careful not to overstock or you could have problems.
ok thats great might make do with what i have til get larger tank as plan on miving lager fish but thanks for the help im just learning lolI would go with an external canister filter. They are extremely quiet and you get much better filtration. They also require much less maintenance. I only clean mine about every 3 months.
