at the min ive got a fluval 304, been using it for nearly a year now....
gets clogged up quite a lot (messy plecs i blame )

its also quite noisey and wrong filter for size of tank

basicly im after a new filter

ive been looking at

fluval 404
fluval fx5
eheim pro 3

any others ??

feedback from people who own one of the products above would be great

Pro 3 every time, expensive but worth every penny.

You have a full tank of fish and they would benifit from a very good filter.

1 peice of advice, hunt around because prices can very quite alot.

eheim pro 2 like the one you have is for 92 gallons
i think that would be better!

may i ask how much did you pay for yours and where did you get it from.

To be honest I can't remember where I got my 2026, i think I paid around £100.

The 2026 is for tanks upto 92 us gallons or 77 uk gallons so it's only just ok for your tank, I take it your's is uk gallons !

With your stocking levels I would recommend overfiltration, those plecs are messy criters, so if you decide for a pro II I think the 2028 would be better. ( for tanks upto 132 uk gallons )

HTH.

yeah agree just been doin some research

2028 or 2128 thermo

due to the fact i have only 1 300watt heater in the tank
only £20 difference in on most sites

they have a 2128 thermo on ebay....

I am a big fan of Eheims- have a pair of Pro II 2026 but I am not a fan of in-filter heaters. You may want to look into an inline heater which goes in the return line.

I have a 2128 thermo on my 75uk gallon tank. Its great, seasy to start and mantain and even if you overstock you tank it will cope with the extra load.
