The filter in my betta tank is wayyy to powerful and every single sponge filter i find is too tall for my tank. I'm thinking of taking the filter out because after reading the betta basics it is said they aren't essential. Is there a problem with it?

I will probobly take the filter out and just keep looking for a small sponge filter if there is nothing wrong with this

ive got a small sponge filtrer, the same as i use for my 7L betta tanks, they are 6 inches tall and a great filter, do you want me to pm you the details? they are going on my website but not for a day or 2, website going live again tonight at some point but these arent on there yet.

ah yes please, it all depends on my mass shopping spree tommorow :hyper: :hyper: and how much i have remaining lol

but i think i shall turn the filter off now and then purchase one of those of you if i have money left!

Rather than a filter I sometimes use an air stone, turned down to almost nothing. You just get a bubble every few seconds and the bettas dont seem to mind this. I usually just do this when I am treating them for an illness. :good: Whereas my fancy goldfish like whirlpools.... :hyper: :hyper:
