i have just got a new 19 gallon aquarium setup with filter but i need help what kind of pads to use it has been running with water in it for 3-4 hours and i have the black coloured one in the filter ,but i wss wondering if the white pad is better?

what filter is it and wot do you mean by its been running with watter in it is the old filter still in it if not then put it back in cos u'll loose ur bacteria after 5-6 hrs. and the black filter pad has carbon in it and the white one dosent so use both cos the black one needs to be replaced every 2 weeks.
