Filter Was Off For 2 Days

Ya I just reread that and I think I may have meant to say something else when I typed that? Because I didnt replace anything in that filter. Im trying to think if maybe I replaced something in the tank...Im extremely confused right now

It's ok. Just relax. I understand that this is frustrating and confusing but we are here to help as much as we can. OK when you cleaned your filter for your ten did you clean the media? If you did did you reuse it? I know you probably did but did you use tank water?

I swooshed it all around in a tub of tank water and then placed it back into the tank.

ok. That's good. Next time gently swish it back and forth. ok I know you are probably terribly sick of testing water at this point but it's very important that we know the PH of your tap.

6.0- but if I was supposed to let it sit around for a bit-then im not sure

read that post. Lowering your PH would be good right now. Just do it slowly pls. 100% divided over 8 water changes in 2 days should be good. EDIT: keep in mind that I try to lean on the side of caution. if you want to do 25% twice a day(or more)...it's your fish and I can't stop you.

EDIT:There are a lot of options open to you at this point. You can move all the fish out do a 100% water change and put them back, or you can do what I suggested just now, or you can do smaller water changes (smaller and more frequent is better btw) Or you can do what pica suggested or, etc.

EDIT EDIT: what is your ammo now that you've done a water change

Well the "hardy" fish are left in there. Im doing small but frequent changes buuuuuuut this is my last one for the night as its 1 30 and im starting to psis of my parents and sister.

not to mention I'm getting very sleepy=)

BTW I thouroughly edited my last post please reread it.

hmm. well all I can say is more water changes. BTW putting all the fish in the 2.5 and doing a complete water change is looking pretty good right now. I recommend you follow pica's directions if you want to do this.

Well the other 2.5 is still in the attic. I cant nor would try to put 4 platys 6 neons and a betta in a 2.5

oic. I thought the filters were in the attic. Well tommorrow when you get up I recommend you get that 2.5 down and put them in it. It's only temporary...shouldn't be more than 15-20 minutes to half drain your ten then pour some water through your filter then drain another 40% refill the whole thing cut on the filter and heater. Then you can start the acclimatisation process. Keep in mind you will still have a mini cycle going on.

EDIT: btw I'd use 50to25 mix of tap and tank water when I fill the 2.5 then I'd put the fish in and after you refill the ten I'd add the other 25% of tap water. Then I'd drain and fill the 2.5 until I had completed the acclimatisation process. Man this is complex. You said you didn't have any suitable bags didn't you...

I had my cories floating in tupperware =D Yea I have to slowly reread what you said about 5 times to understand

sorry...if you need a clearer explanation I believe i just abbreviated what pica said earlier...atleast I tried too. Like i said I'm tired. BTW when I said to use a 50 tp 25 mix in the 2.5 I meant use a 75 to 25 mix then drain a few cups and put in a few cups of tap every 15-20 min.

Haha I think we are both extremely tired and should get to bed lol. Im sure ill understand it all in the morning.
