i have a fluval profile with is about 300ltrs and i came with a 405 filter at the mo i only have young mbuna in there but as they grow i think the 405 wont cope . was just wondering what filter i could replace with as tank has the pipe that come in through to bottom i still want to use them, how about a eheim pro 3 2075 or is that still no good for messy malawis.

Have a google search of "All Pond Solutions", or APS filters. Increasinly more and more people are using these currently, and are getting rave reviews. I myself will be getting one the next time i purchase a filter as i've seen them in working order at Walkers101's house and Star4's. They are amazing to put it simply. Apparently a little tricky to get working, but once they're up and going people always give them the thumbs up. For the LPH you get for your money aswell is really good. Value itself is unbeatable!

Certainly worth a closer looky.

I have a profile i swapped the standard filter for my fx5 no issue as the outlet from the tanks pipes are tapered so would take various sized hoses so reckon any filter would fit! if in doubt email fluval they are well helpful! i also run a powerhead and 3plus as well and keep big haps no issues

i did look at the fx5 but wasnt sure if it would fit in the profile's cabinet and havn't measured it yet to see
