Currently on my 75gall tank I have an Eheim 2215 and a Aquaclear 300....Due to the loaches always wanting to get into the AC300, I have had to put flyscreen over the waterfall part which tend to get blocked up every 3-4 days or so.....SO.....I throught about moving the Fluval 204 to the 75gall and the AC300 to the 30gall.....SO....

Current 30gall= aquaclear300 and Fluval 204......75gall= aquaclear 300 and Eheim 2215
Proposed 30 gall= aquaclear 300 x2.....75gall Fluval 204 and Eheim 2215

Would this substantially change the filtration levels in the tank? I am thinking that the tank that would suffer the most is the 30gall due to the removal of the canister filter.....

The other alternative is to buy another canister filter so I have the 2 canister filters on the 75gall and the 2 AC300s plus a canister filter on the 30gall (though this seems lie ke a lot of filtration for a 30gall tank).....

Any opinions would be appreciated :D

Hey Chook! The 2 ac300s should be fine on a 30 gallon. My only real concern would be that the ac's provide more mechanical filtration than a canister, causing the 75 to have a little more particulate matter floating around. With 2 canisters on a 75 you should be fine though. I would do it, beats having loaches hung up in a filter. If they get to the impeller it could be nasty.

could always cut down a foam filter and stuff it in there just inside the lid to block them access all the way in
