I have recently aquired a 72 litre and a 60 litre tank and in the process of setting them up.
Would a Fluval U3 (90- 150 l) internal filter (Got it from PFK subscription) be okay for the 72l or would i need to get a smaller filter ?. Also i'm seeding the sponge media from this and from a Fluval 2 plus (For the 60l) in each of my other two tanks. I intend to leave these in the tanks for about five weeks. When i transfer them to the new tanks how much household Ammonia should each filter need to be able to process in twelve hours before they are ready for some fish, Thanks in advance for any advice, regards, Alan

Once placed into a fishless situation, I would try starting at 1 ppm of ammonia and see what you have. You are unlikely to have the robust bacterial populations that we try for by using 5 ppm of ammonia to start our filters.
