Just wondering,
How often should i really be changing the Poly/Carbon Cartridge on a Fluval U3, it's in a Fluval 90 (a touch overstocked).

Also, i have an external downstairs that has a carbon bag in it but i read they only last a little while
and it's really only used after meds to help clear stuff up..

So is there any need in me replacing this every so often or should i replace it with perhaps another sponge or something?

yus, pretty much, or taking degrees of discolourtation out of the water or the odd smell its got a life of about 3-5 days i believe, onces its absorbed all it can you have to take it out else it starts to let go of stuff and cycles back into your tank.

If you`re happy with the clarity of your water I would go for more bio media, whatever you decide to put in I should check the throughput afterwards
