Filter Questions

hello alll
I currently have 3 tanks...
2 26G and 1 12G

Currently only the 12G is occupied. the rest are empty.. I'm intending to get new filters for my 26G tanks.
currently the 12G has a 500litres/Hour filter on it.. am i over filtering this tank?
I heard its ok to overfilter...

what do you all suggest for the 26G tanks?
if the 500litres/hr filter is too much for my 12G, maybe i could shift it to the 26G? or ?

need all the help i can get here

Overfiltering is good, if it's mature your water should be perfect and it'll need less maintenance due to the larger capacity.
