Filter Question

I have just purchased a new 130l tank and it comes with an aqua one 103f filter which states it's for up to 100L... Why would you be given a free filter that's not big enough for the tank... Any thoughts?

That does sound a bit pointless. My understanding is that the max tank size for the filter does not consider the sponge or other media you would have inside it, slowing the rate it pumps, which would make this one even less suitable.
 
Sell it on here or ebay and use the cash to go towards a more powerful one.
