Hi all, my trickle filter motor has been running since mid august, but just since i added my fish a week ago the filters motor has accasionally stopped the flick of a toothpick on one of the propelers it starts running again, can someone help me to fix it

i posted in this section as most betta owners have a trickle filter (my tank that runs with it is a 35 litre betta lifespace)

thanks

do a waterchange and take all the media out of the filter...put it in the old tank water and clean the impeller! the moving parts in the filter seem that they are a bit gunked up...should help things a lot if you get a new(unused)toothbrush and give the filter housing and impeller a good scrub. then rinse it in the old tank water which now has the media floating around in it...reassemble the filter and viola..i bet your problem is solved..if not, may be the beginning of a failure and back-up filter plans would be thought of(consider a siy sponge filter using that media from this filter if a good clean doesnt resolve you issue).
cheers
