I tagged this onto the end of my post in the planted forum, but I think that wasn't the best place for an answer, so I'm just going to copy and paste. I would love if anyone had some input. I want to set my new tank up right rather than have to go back and change things once I realize I didn't know what I was doing!

Going totally off topic here, but I didn't want to create multiple posts. The tank came with a Marineland Magnum 350 filter. I've been reading up on them and about the pros and cons, and I think I want to go the route described here: http
/www.oscarfish...ifications.html and make the modifications. Has anyone done something similar? I actually already have a Penguin 350 a friend gave me. If so, or if you take a look at the link, how would you attach the prefilter foam to the inflow tube? Just slide it over the end?
