Hi,

I have a small Aqua-40 tank (hold about 28 litres) with a small internal filter. The filter hasn't got much space in it for media. What is the most effective filter media I can use; would it be better to use as much foam as possible or is it best to combine a bit of foam, some ceramic and some wool?

Also I usually rinse the foam in tank water once a week, a lot of crud comes out but would it be better to rinse the foam less frequently?

Is there any need to change the filter foam?

Thanks

Only replace the media when it's falling to bits.
Because it's so small, i'd say have 3/4 foam and 1/4 bio rings/ bio balls etc :good:
If when you rinse it alot of muck comes off, just keep doing it every week
