Filter media question

Over the last few months I have gone from 12 down to 6 fish due to couple of fatalities and giving some fish to my cousin.

Will the bacteria in my tank/media consequently decrease or will it stay around the level for that amount of fish.

Reason I am asking is that I am lookin at adding soem new fish on Thursday and want to make sure I get it right.

Well the bacteria in your filter should decrease due to the lack of "food" for them but there's no reason u shouldn't add fish aslong as you only put about 6 in at any one point, it also depends on the fish.

u should be able to add some more....what size tank is it and what kind and how many of each do u have then we can help u decide what u could get
