Hi guys,

just a quick question. I overfilter my tank (its a juwel and i have kept the standard filter and added another fluval one), i have no carbon filter pads though, will overfiltering affect plant growth by somehow taking nutrients (as i believe carbon pads would)?

TIA :good:

Provided you keep the filtration mechanical and biological ( I pretty much only use sponge ), then you can`t beat a bit of overfiltration. Just make sure your plants aren`t bent over horizontally!

Personally I like graded filtration. From heavy coarse sponge through to filter wool and then finely Biological media. A good Biological media count plays a vital role in the carbon cycle on which your plants rely on.
