Hi all.

Got a 5gallon tank and i would like to get a small filter for it? Anyone know of a little filter that would be suited...

Thanks

Kev

An Elite Mini is a good filter for small tanks, or you could go for a sponge filter, or I think they do the Stingray (whatever they're called) ones for that size... Hagen is good for electric filters for that size.

Ok any Filter that says like 5-10 or 5-15 gal should work good... just curious what are you planning to put in there?

not made my mind up yet. The thought of a nice betta cory combo or i was also thinking about a Frog (dwarf) or maybe a Crab. They sell Crabs in the lfs here and the guy said that they would be ok in a tank that size, but i aint sure, not sure if crabs would be as interesting as the other 2? What size of tank do dwarf puffers need? Anyway not sure what im going to put in it, but the tank will be full or half full of water and i thought a small filter would be handy.

I think i mite order a Elite Mini filter, they are a nice size and the price is rite :)

I wouldnt mind having a crab in a half full tank, but after doing some reading the puffer sounds really interesting, just the teeth tho. Is it hard to keep them in check, like getting snails mite be a problem.

My 5 gallon has a Whisper 10 filter in it. It has plenty of output but I keep it turned way down since it is a betta tank. It's actually the type that hangs inside the tank (came with the tank) rather than the HOB type you see if you check at Big Al's or some other online store.

i am not sure if they are available in scotland but i would recommend an azoo palm filter for a 5 g with a dp.
i had a submersible duetto filter and it sucked my puffers in so i would certainly not recommend anyhting rated for more than 5 g.
