Filter Changes

hi guys, i was on here a week or so ago asking for help with a problem i had with my tank. After all your great advice the tank has settled down now, the water is crystal clear and the fish seem happy. the problem i had before was that we changed the filter by taking out the old and putting in the new. this time round don't want to make the same mistake, so was wondering what your best advice would be. the filter used is a tetratec easycrystal filter pack c 250/300.

All you do is squeeze some mature sponges onto the wet new ones, and run both filters.
