Is there anyway to cut down on the bubbles in the water from the filter output? My smaller tanks both have a fairly strong current -- but no bubbles in the water.

But my 55 gallon has a lot of bubbles showing in the water in almost half the tank where the filter output is. My smaller tanks have Penguins and the 55 Gallon has the same but bigger (Emperor 400).

It doesn't appear to be harmful - I just tend to like the look of clearer water.

Also, regarding the intake -- is it better to have the intake halfway down the tank or closer to the bottom? I have an extension for it which would bring it all the way down to the bottom of the tank (and would be less noticeable.)

Also, any suggestions for better/different filters are welcome!

I have exactly the same 'problem' with my internal fluvals. Sorry to say that I still haven't come up with a 'solution'. :p
