Hello, i was wondering if i can ask u some qs, i have kept my tropical fish for about 5 years but i have recentaly got a fuluva 3 internal filter because i got rid of my fuluva 301 external filter because it was rubbish, my new filter is good but i dont think it get most of the rubbish from under neeth my tank, should i think about getting a undergravle filter with a power head, i dont knwo who much my tank holds but i think it is 60 liters, but here are the measurments, H=40cm W=40cm L=70cm, i do not know how to find out how much it is hehe, but i was thinking if i got one it would be even cleaner, i have 2 Blue Gouramis, 2 Three Spotted Gouramis, 3 Black Phantom Tetras and 5 Golden algae eaters, and i am getting some more fish soon. I am 15 so my money is a limmit, but i do havea job so i get some money in and i work to much for money hehe, but i can afford most things, thank you for your time. :good:

Hi Ali
Your tank is a 30G(US) or 113 litres, and the Fluval 3 filter that you have is suitable for tanks upto 130Litres so it should be ok,

Can i ask how you maintain the tank? i.e. how often water changes are done, if Gravel cleaning is done etc...

You may also like to know that your Golden Algae Eaters are likely to become quite aggressive once they age and aren't really suitable for community tanks,

i water change about once every 2 weeks or about 1 week, the gravel is done when it looks liek it needs doing, but should i do it once a week?

yeh i have a really big one and he is not nice, and then i have some small ones, i would really like to get rid of them and get some cat fish, but do you think my shop will take them on?

What percentage of water do you change?, Also do you have a Gravel Cleaner/syphon? These make it much easier to clean the gravel and water change at the same time,

There is no harm in asking, although i can't see any reason why they wouldn't,

I have an undergravel filter and it works well for me. I clean it once a week and my tank is fine. I like them, and I would give it a go if I were you. It may help your situation.
