Heres what i have been looking at;

But i have seen Figure Eight Puffer,

Hello,
Now how do i go about Brackish?
Read the pinned topics, read the FAQ in my signature file, or better yet buy my book!
What Salt levels?
SG 1.003-1.005 is about right, can go a little higher but no more than SG 1.010.
Tankmates?
With figure-8s, best not, but otherwise their own kind or gobies (provided plenty of hiding places such as rocks and shells).
Hydrometer how much £££ ?
Basic model floating glass hydro is about 5 quid.
Biotype? Sand? Bogwood? Plants?
Yes and yes to sand and bogwood; plants only if you want, otherwise skim 'em and go with plastic plants. Good pinned topic here on planting brackish tank, read it first, ask Qs after!

Cheers, Neale

Read the FAQ helped but how do you use the table spoons pergallon/litre?

Right, read the FAQ, seems like its hard to plant Brackish aquarias. so i think ill go with sand some bogwood and some java fern, and some cocunut Caves.

Just a quick thing... please try and format your replies properly! Anything that makes it easier to read also makes it more likely people will answer your questions.

You don't. Estimate the salt by weight, add to the bucket, dissolve, measure the SG, then add water or marine salt mix as required to lower/raise the SG as required. Download my "Brack Calc" application if you want to convert between weight, salinity and SG quickly on a computer (see signature file link).

Yes. Read the instructions with the hydrometer, and use, clean, store it properly.

No, it's not hard, just different. Java fern and Java moss are both ideal and easy to obtain, hardy, and very very reliable.

no, not the ones ive seen.

however there might be some out there that i havent seen and they do stay in the tank :dunno: but whatever it is it will always say on the packagin :good:

If memory serves, wood in salt water rots rather quickly...well much more quickly than in freshwater.
