Figure 8....

How many Figure 8 puffers (Tetraodon biocellatus) can i fit in a 30g i know its either 2 or 1....but which? anything that could go in there with them?

also, any recomendations for a good refractometer?

hmmm ok......so a bumble bee goby, ive been looking around and haven't been able to find their preferred salinity level.


and also on a forum that is specifically about puffers recommends 15g for 1 puffer but nothing on the way of how much per second puffer...any hints?

I'm in the same position as you, so can't speak from experience yet, but from my reading it seems that a single figure 8 puffer and 4 or 5 bumble bees would be best for a tank that size.

bumblebee gobies and figure 8's require around the same salinity - 1.005 and you could vary up or down 1.002 every now and then as well, if you want to keep plants then varying down to 1.003 would boost growth.

I maintain mine the majority of the time between 1.003 and 1.005 and they have been healthy for over a year now.

in a 30USG long overfiltered tank you could keep 2 figure 8's and around 7 bumblebee gobies.
