Hello

I've decided to make my 15 gallon a Brackish tank. With 1 Figure 8 puffer and some gobies. Do they like the same amount of salt in there water, what amount? Also how many Bumblebees will i be able to have?

Dimensions of tank: Length: 64cm , Width: 30cm , Height: 36cm

I plan to plant the tank, with easy plants and i will have to put in some caves for the gobies.

Some people have said Figure 8's are fine with gobies and others have said Figure 8s wont go with them...

Thanks

i personally wouldnt put the bumblebees with fig 8's the ones ive had and seen have all been very aggressive and i recon would kill the little gobies :)

just my 2 cents :)

Yes I too have heard a couple of good stories about f8s going with BBGs, havent heard anyone (apart from phoenix :p ) say they wouldnt go together. The reasons being are these:
Bumblebee gobies are very territorial aggresive and grumpy fish, they are not at all peaceful.
Also, they have yellow and black colouration, which are classic warning colours.
Because of these issues, many fish will leave the bumblebee goby alone, but someone will have to back me up on this one.

Not sure on how many you would be able to have, but they like an SG of 1.003-1.005, so not very much at all, and well within the tolerances of most plants which should be in your favour.

lol i must have just had mean fig 8's lol ah well im sure there will be many other opionions 2 :D

good luck what ever way you go :good:

Figure 8 puffers and bumblebee gobies make great tankmates. For a 15 gallon tank a single figure 8 plus about 6 bumblebee gobies would work out fine. Also be sure to check out the "Planting Brackish Aquaria" pin at the top of this forum for info on brackish plants.

I currently have a GSP in with a BBG, and all seems fine....
not really the same, but, i tried.

make sure you have some decent hideouts for the goby.

i'm unsure of the SG for a F8, but my GSP/BBG tank is around 1.010, with a pH of 8. BBG is usally a lower-end (salinity) fish, so 1.010 is almost pushing it. Eventually, as the GSP matures, a new tank will have to be set up to handle the higher salinity.
