Fighter What Sex?

How do you tell the sex of a fighter as i think they are a cute fish and would like to add some to my tank but have been told i can only have 1 male in the tank so how can i tell the sex male of female.
I would like to add 1 male and 2 female fighters would they all get along?

Bettas are sold by sex. The biggest majority of what is sold in stores are males. They are generally larger and have more ornate fins.

If you have a male in the tank, you can't have any other bettas of either sex except when they are ready to breed. Females can be kept in groups though. As a general rule, males in particualr do not do well in community tanks. Most don't like the water movement that is present with larger filters of larger tanks and they will also attack other fish, particularly guppies and angels that have larger tails that they take to be another betta.

you cant have a male and female together as the male will kill them. you can only get 1 male or a group of females
